i am having trouble with the factory alarm. i do not have the remote and sometimes when i unlock it with the key the factory alarm starts honking and it will not turn on. it happens once in a while. how do i disactivate the alarm so that it will not go on at all.

Answer
Hi Victor,
I suspect that the wire from the door switch to the theft module has opened up so it isn't getting the grounding action of that wire that is needed to disarm the module. You can try using the other door which may still have a working wire. Or you can disarm the module, or you can only use the push-buttons to lock the doors by hand (no key, no power locking will keep the system from arming). The module is under the dash, to the right of the steering column. It is rectangular, taller than wide, has a 21-pin plug on the side facing the driver. You can disable the system BUT the rule is to start the engine and have it running when you pull the 21-pin plug, otherwise you go into a "deep" disable situation. So there are several choices.
