Chrysler Repair: Accessory drive belt:; 3.3/3,8L V-6, crankshaft pulley, tensioner pulley

Question
instructions on how to replace fan belt on my 1999 plymouth voyageur 3.5 litre

Answer
Hi Martys,
On the 3.3 and 3.8L there is a spring-loaded dynamic tensioner pulley (between the power steering and crank pulleys). You have to change the belt by first lifting the right front side high enough to remove the inner fender splash shield of the wheel well. I believe it is held in place by push-pins which you remove by lifting gently with the tip of a screwdriver on the center, but I am not sure of that. The tension is released by putting a wrench on the tensioner pulley bolt and rotating the tension arm clockwise. That allows the removal of the old belt and application of the new belt. Reverse the procedure and you are done.
Thanks for the kind evaluation and nomination.
