Hi Ron,
To replace the evaporator you have to remove the unit from the vehicle and disassemble it on the bench. The dash has to be removed to do that. I have the '98 manual and could xerox copy and mail all the pages that are involved. It cost me 10 cents per side. If you want I can count the pages and let you the cost.
