Question
having problems removing starter from 1999 plymouth breeze.cant get to bolts.to much metal in way.need advice as to what has to be moved out of way to remove starter.has a 2.4l engine.

Answer
Hi Jim,
The manual says to: disconnect battery, remove the air intake resonator (2 bolts to manifold, 2 bolts to throttle body). Then remove the three transmission control module mounting screws and move it to provide access to starter top mounting bolt but don't disconnect its plug.
Then remove lower bolt. Then from underneath disconnect the cables to it. Then remove the top bolt. Then remove the starter.
When remounting, with the vehicle raised, insert the starter into its mounting hole, lower the vehicle, install top bolt but don't tighten it. Raise vehicle, install and tighten lower bolt (40 ft-lbs). Connect wiring. Lower vehicle. Tighten top starter bolt. Install TCM, install air cleaner resonator. Reconnect battery.
I just saw your question in the pool, sorry for the delay.
