Car Alarms: how to disable factory alarm, seperate system, ford ranger

Question
QUESTION: hello' my name is glenn, and i have a question,it seem's my anti theft is malfunctioning and i would like to disable it. I read you can do so by grounding the purple and dark green wire behind the kick panel. Is this true for a 1999 ford ranger too? also do i leave the wire intact and splice into it or cut and splice the wire? any info would be greatly appreciated.By the way the truck will crank but not start and the theft light flashes fast . thank you, Glenn.

ANSWER: No that will not correct the PATS ignition fuel cut off
circuit isse you described. That might turn off the
headlight flashing and horn honking trigger,
but that will not correct the PATS so you can start
the engine. :>(

The igntion and key need to be re programmed at FORD.

Sorry about that. Once done however, a bypass can then be done
using a programmed key and a relay, or a keyless bypasskit
from www.BYPASSMODULES.com to keep the PATS inert
until the module is removed (if ever).

QUESTION: hello' again, i am not questioning your expertise ,but i read on this site a couple of similar vehicles had the same problem and grounding the [factory alarm disarm wire] would terminate the OEM alarm function's entirely, but it would make it easier to steal, which is not a worry as it is an older vehicle,i would just like to get it running.    thank you,   Glenn.

Answer
I understand the request, but there are 2 seperate system at work here. The one the controls the fuel injection circuit is
engaged. You need to take it to a local dealership for resetting.
The fix you are reffering to is for the noise and headlights only.
