Question
I took the 3.8 out of my chrysler twn n cntry mini van and put a 3.3 in it from a chrysler 5th ave.( motor ran in car before took it out.) In process took all wiring harnesses off 3.8 and put on 3.3, now cant get a spark.. changed top harness (injectors, coil, temp sens, etc) back with original 3.3 but hook up plugs different.. now what to do?? stumped can you help??

Answer
Hi John,
What is the year model of the van and of the donor car?
Did you change any of the sensors, or just the harnesses?
Let me know so I can check out the pin assignments.
Also, try to get fault codes if the van is pre-97 using the ignition key and check engine light.
Also, check whether you have 8V on the orange wire at the crank and cam sensor plugs WHILE CRANKING. Then measure across the other 2 wires while turning the engine over by hand with a socket on the crank pulley bolt. It should oscillate betweem 5 and 0.3V as you turn it over.
Let me know the results.
