QuestionQUESTION: I have a 2000 3.3 engine Voyager with gasket leaks on the trans pan and oil pan.
The trans pan I have had serviced for gasket and filter before, and I am thinking it is straighforward.
The oil pan looks like it could be difficult to remove as it butts up to the transmission on one side. Is there a trick to removing the pan and gasket for the oil pan? There is a vertical plate on the trans? that kind of blocks access to the oil pan bolts.
Also, is there any reason to think the small leak on the trans pan is the solenoid pack and not the gasket?
ANSWER: OIL PAN
REMOVAL
Disconnect negative cable from battery and remove engine oil dipstick.
Raise vehicle on hoist and drain engine oil.
Remove bending brace to transaxle attaching bolt.
Remove bolts attaching dust cover to transaxle housing. Lower dust cover to gain access to oil pan bolts.
Remove oil pan screws and remove oil pan.
INSTALLATION
Clean surfaces and apply a 1/8 inch bead of Mopar® Engine RTV GEN II at the parting line of the chain case cover and the rear seal retainer Oil Pan Sealing
Use a new pan gasket Oil Pan Gasket Installation
Install pan and tighten screws to 12 N·m (105 in. lbs.)
Install dust shield and bending brace to transaxle housing.
Lower vehicle and install oil dipstick.
Connect negative cable to battery.
Fill crankcase with oil to proper level.
the sol packs leak quite often if unsure do both.

On the sol pack, is that accessable when the trans pan is removed and would that be a total replacement or re-pack operation. Any idea on cost of the sol pack parts? Thanks again
Answerthe sol pack is outside its not internal. one can be done separate of each other. dealer cost for a sol pack is 220 sense u have an older van u might haft to remove the metal plate to which the old one sits atop of and throw it away some have them some dont. the sol pack is gotten to from top as well.
