Question
How do you remove cv shaft from transmission 1994 concord 3.5

Answer
Hi David,
There is a snap ring that holds the inner tripod joint to the transmission stub shaft. You insert the tip of a prybar against the inner surface of the tripod joint and the other side of the prybar tip against one of the nearby nut/stud of the transmission housing and using that as the fulcrum pry on the tripod until it releases the snap ring. However, do not at this point take it all the way off the stub shaft, but then turn the nuts on the strut assembly to steering knuckle bolts (Dont turn the bolts as they are serrated!). Then pull those bolts out. Remove the top of the steering knuckle from the strut assembly. Then hold the outer C/V with one hand and grasp steering knuckle with other hand and rotate it out and to the rear of the vehicle until C/V joint clears the hub and bearing assembly. Now you can remove the entire half axle by pulling it off of the trans shaft but pull only on the very end of the tripod.
Be careful when removing the shaft from the wheel and bearing assembly to not damage the flinger disk of the bearing assembly.
