Chrysler Repair: Power windows dont work: 01 Sebrting convt., chrysler sebring, fuse box

Question
QUESTION: A couple weeks ago I noticed that my windows no longer worked.  I tried every switch in my car and none worked.  I tested the fuses and they were fine.  I then took of the driver side door panel; I was getting power to the switch but the windows aren't moving.  Could all of the window motors died at the same time?  Or what else could the problem be?

ANSWER: Hi Nelson,
It could be a harness multipin disconect or a common ground wire has disconnected. I need to know the year, make, model and body style to give you some specific suggestions.

QUESTION: I have a 2001, Chrysler Sebring

Answer
Hi Nelson,
The latest manual I have for the Sebring convt. it '98. In that version the power for the system is a 20A circuit breaker in position 19 of the underdash fuse box. That circuit breaker gets its power from fuse 18 in the power distribution center under the hood, so look at that one also. I would look at those first to make sure they both are conducting.
The other common part of the circuit is the ground for the system which is a wire that is bolted to the inner cowl panel (located just in front of the driver side door opening) about halfway up. Make sure that is connected tightly.
Let me know what you find.
