Chrysler Repair: 1995 Dodge Neon igintion switch, dodge neon, pick and pull

Question
My 95 Neon was stolen. They busted the ignition switch and removed the cylinder that the key goes in. The housing is busted. I went to my local pick and pull and got the entire steering column. I need to get the cylinder out of the new column so I can use my old one. I understand you need the key in the on position to remove the cylinder. Here's my problem there was no key with the car at the junkyard. Is there a way to remove this cylinder without the key? I want to reuse my old one since I have the key for it.

Answer
Hi Stacey,
If you haven't installed it yet, the easiest thing to do would be to carry it to a locksmith and have a locksmith pick the lock. Other than that, I am afraid that trying to remove the old cylinder without a key will just leave you with another broken housing.
