Chrysler Repair: 1987 Chrysler LeBaron no-start, chrysler lebaron, 1987 chrysler lebaron

Question
Dealers say no codes in computer. Fuel pump does not start when ignition key is turned on (have replaced ignition switch anyway, no help). Car will crank but not start. Two different dealers have had it for a total of nearly six months without a fix.  Ideas?

Answer
Hi Bob,
I need to ask a couple of questions:
Is this a J-body coupe/convert or a sedan LeBaron?
And do you have the single module engine controller (located on the left inner fender with two plugs) or a split-type controller (power module in the engine compartment/logic module in the cabin on the right kick panel? The changeover occured in mid-'87.
The fuel pump doesn't even run for 1 second when you turn the ignition switch to the "run" position? I assume they have checked for voltage getting to the pump or not for that 1 second period of time, and also when they are cranking it? Have they jumped the fuel pump to 12V to see it it works? Do you have spark when it is cranked?
And which engine do you have?
Let me know with a follow-up response. I will be available later in the day.
