Chrysler Repair: 2000 chrysler T&C: charging light on, battery clamps, failure point

Question
Replaced alternator and battery due to bad voltage regulator. 2 months later I was driving and hit a bump and the radio went off and back on. Now the battery and alternator lite stays on.

Answer
Hi Jim,
You could check the battery clamps and also check the ground wires from the - clamp to make sure they are attached cleanly and securely at the body and engine. Then see if you have 12V on the black/gray wire at the generator. If not, then look for a fusible link along that wire and check that it isn't blown.  If all those look good and the battery will still power up the starter motor and the engine will start then I would go to the place that replaced the alternator and see if it may have failed under warranty.
By the way the voltage regulator is part of the powertrain controller so I assume that was replaced entirely. If so, that would be another possible failure point.
But given the bump history be sure all your connections at the alternator are good too.
