Nissan Repair: 94 Nissan rear strut replacement, nissan sentra, rear strut

Question
Hi, I have a 94 Nissan Sentra that rides like a clown car. The rear suspension is completely shot and I understand that it takes struts, not shocks. can you tell me if I would need special equipment to do the replacement myself and what the minimal cost solution would be to fix this problem. I will be selling it soon, but the lack of control is dangerous, so i need to fix it before then. Thank you for your time.

Answer
Roger,

You can take the struts out of the rear as an assembly.  But, you will need a strut spring compressor to get the spring off the old strut to install it on the new one.  You can purchase the spring compressor at the parts store or take it in and have them change the springs out and then replace the struts.
