Chrysler Repair: Chrysler Sebring Coupe 2.5L V6 - Blinking Lights, chrysler sebring coupe, dashboard warning lights

Question
Hi,

Recently I had to boost my battery with the aid of booster cables/battery. Since then all the interior lights and exterior lights (except the turn indicator lights, brake lights and the dashboard warning lights) keep on blinking after I start the car. A noise also keeps on sounding and it is the same noise that you'd hear if the emergency lights are turned on. I have heard of some models of jeep having this problem. In those cases, the connection of the battery cables to the battery and/or corroded cables caused the problem. I would like to know if tightening the battery cable connection and/or cleaning the corroded cables could solve the problem for a 2000 Chrysler Sebring coupe as well. Thanks in advance for your time.

Answer
Hi Tabs,
If you mean that even the headlights are doing this blinking then there is clearly a faulty component that may be dragging down the battery voltage/current. I would try to find the source of the noise as that would be the unit that is probably at fault. I don't see how starting the engine would suddenly cause all these lights to start blinking without the engine also being affected in its function. So you need to start by finding the electrical component that is making the noise is association with the blinking. Once you do that tell me about it, where it is located, what its plug is like, how many wires and their colors, etc. so that I can find out where it is in the wiring diagram and then try to understand why it is behaving this way. What happens when you turn on the hazards light switch, both with the engine not running and with it running. Do the hazards work, and what happens with all the other lights that behave irratically?
