Chrysler Repair: Front drivers spindle replacement: LH body, chrysler concord, wheel hub

Question
I have a 1996 Chrysler concord that I hopped a curb with during ice storm. Much damage done including bent lower control arm both driver side rims bent sub frame shifted to the right and the brake pad guides on the front drivers spindle was bent. Most issues have been resolved except the sub frame and the spindle. I have found a spindle at a salvage yard and want to replace it my self. I've had quite a bit of experience repairing my own vehicles but none involving these components. I want to know if when i get the old spindle off will my car be sitting in my driveway because I do not have any special tools or knowledge to replace it. Usually if I can get the old one off I can get the new one one but with bearings involved I need to be sure. I appreciate any comments you may have on the issue.

Answer
Hi Matt,
The manual doesn't show any problems with doing this with the help of a jack and putting the side you are working on a jack stand. By 'spindle' I assume you mean the steering knuckle. There are a couple of tips: be careful when separating the control arm from the spindle to not damage the seal on the ball joint; and always take the nuts off the bolts, don't loosen the bolts that go thru the knuckle because they and the socketes into which they fit are serrated and you don't want to damage the serrations. Let me know if you want me to copy about 8 pages from the manual about the knuckle and the wheel hub/bearing and postal mail them to you. It would cost me about $1.20 to do that so if you would agree to mail me back 3 41-cent stamps after you receive them that would be appreciated. Use the "thank and rate" tab to leave a postal mailing address in the comments section.
