Chrysler Repair: check engine light, oxygen sensor, chrysler town

Question
i have a 1996 Chrysler town & country my check engine light came on. i get a troubleshoot done on it. the pcm has determine that there is insufficient activity from oxygen sensor 1. i take it to the service shop and the next day i have the light on again what do i do

Answer
Hi Clement,
I would try to get a free fault code readout from Autozone parts store if there is one near you, or perhaps pay for one at an independent shop to see if the code for the oxygen sensor is still present. That way you will know when you go back to the service shop that they either didn't change the correct sensor or didn't do it correctly. Otherwise they may just say it is something new and charge you for that. The codes for the oxygen sensor are 21, 51 or 52.
