Chrysler Repair: dash computer: 99 Sebring, sebring conv, diagnostic test

the computer in the dash that show temp MPG direction  the only part the works full time is temp. once in awhile the direction  N S E W come on briefly when I start the car Chry Sebring Conv 99.

Hi Peter,
There is a self-diagnostic test that you can do:
Simultaneously push and hold the US/M and step buttons
Then turn the ignition ON (the run position)
This will start the test. All segments should light up. After the test it will either show Pass, Fail, or CCd.
If any segments fail to light, replace the module. if Fail is shown try the test again and if another Fail results, replace the module.
If CCd is shown, then another test using a diagnostic readout box is necessary because the problem involves the engine or body computers or the wiring connecting them.
