Chrysler Repair: code 171, throttle position sensor, liter

Question
2000 jeep Classic 4 liter inline 6 cylinder FI.
Black smoke (rich) idel is good, when applying throttle it lurches so I had to hold it to the floor to make it home and used an excessive amount of gas 180,000 KM on it.

What do you think?

Answer
Take a look at the throttle position sensor using an ohmmeter. Measure between the center pole and either side pole of the socket, while moving the throttle to see if it varies smoothly in resistance. Otherwise, 171 actually means too lean? so it may just be way too lean to burn?
