Chrysler Repair: stereo installation:Le Baron, kenwood cd player, chrysler lebaron

Question
I have a 90 Chrysler Lebaron coupe, automatic, I need to know how to remove the old stereo so I can install my new Kenwood CD PLayer

Answer
Hi Josef,
There is a surround panel for the entire center section (stack) that is called a bezel. It it held in place by clips which will release if you carefully pry it from the edge gradually going all the way around it a little at a time. Then you will see the radio is simply held in place by screws on both sides of the unit. Remove those screws and the unit will slide out. Notice that the radio is grounded electrically by means of a mesh wire attached to the rear of the chassis. There is no ground wire as such in the plug. Send me a "follow-up" if you need to know the wire color code assignments.
