Chrysler Repair: 2000 Sebring rear view mirror, sebring lxi, rear view mirror

Question
I have a 2000 sebring lxi and I am trying to take the rear view mirror off. I have the replacement but I can not take the old one off. It does not have a screw to take out that I can see but I heard there is a tool required. Please help! Thank you so much for your time!

Answer
Hi Ryan,
I had the same question a couple of weeks ago so here is the answer:
In the '00 manual there is shown to be a slit at the front edge of the mounting bracket (at the headlining surface) into which you would insert a small flat tip type screwdriver until you feel it hit resistance which is a spring. Pushing against that spring will release the pawl that latches the mounting bracket to the roof, so if you then while continuing to put pressure on the spring move the bracket in the same direction (toward the rear of the car) you should find that the bracket will slide backward and be released from the roof.
