Chrysler Repair: switch illumination for heater controls: 00 300M, headlamp switch, shift cable

Question
I recently had the shift cable and lever replaced on my 2000 300m. After getting the car back from the dealer, I noticed 1/2 of the illumination of the heater switches don't come on, but the switches operate ok otherwise. How do I access the switches without breaking the console?

Answer
Hi Pat,
The most recent manual I have is for '98. It shows that if you remove the ash receiver assembly, if necessary, that allows the entire center console bezel to be removed. It appears that the entire center bezel (radio, ac controls, cubby) is held in place by push clips and the control panel comes out along with the bezel. So gentle pressure on the bezel going gradually all the way around it, may release it.  Remove the plugs from the back of the control panel and then there are 6 screws to remove the control from the bezel proper.
That is the best I can offer.
The wiring diagrams don't show the panel lights other than that they are controlled by a single wire from the headlamp switch so the problem is internal to the control itself it would appear, perhaps burned out bulbs or a crack in the circuit board that supplies the bulbs.
