Chrysler Repair: Chrysler concorde engine stalls, then restarts, clock resets, chrysler concorde, battery clamps

Question
2000 concorde with 2.7 engine. 77K miles.
Just happened. Car shut down in driveway.  Started up in about 10 seconds. (I thought I might be in Drive and not Park or Neutral). I wasn't and on restart attempt it started right up. Drove about 4 miles and it died while moving. Coasted off road and out of traffic. Noticed this time that there was no power and that clock had gone to 12:00. Swore a little and tried to start it and it started. Drove back home. Clock says 12.12.

Answer
Hi Steve,
Your observation about the clock (assuming that it is part of the radio) is very relevant. That reset of the clock would indicate that the main power source, the battery was momentarily disconnected from the vehicle, because that clock (and other things that work even when you aren't running the vehicle) resets when the power stops.
I would look at the battery clamps (be careful when touching the +-post with a wrench not to touch any other metal*) to make sure they are clean/shiny/tight and also follow the wires that are attached to the - post clamp to their ends and make sure those attachments are tightly attached. Let me know if that doesn't fix it. The only other possibility is a momentary dead short to ground but that would produce arcing and smoke.

*When working on the clamps, remove the - post clamp first, then remove the + post, then after check the posts and clamps surfaces reattach the + post first, then finish by attaching the - post.
