Chrysler Repair: 1991 chrysler van 2.5L fuel pump not working, fuel pump relay, inner fender

Question
When I try to start the van, I always hear the pump come on first but not anymore.  Is there a relay on this year and if so where is  it what else could be the problem short of a bad in tank pump?

Answer
Hi Jim,
The fuel pump relay is the 2nd one on the left inner fender. It should have 12V on the red/white wire all the time, and when you turn the ignition key to 'run' it should have 12V on the dark blue wire coming from the ignition switch. Neither of these is fused, rather a fusible link supply that is probably OK. When you turn the key to run the relay should close for a secont and send 12V to the pump on the dark green/black wire.  You can jump from the red/white to the dark green/black and thus test the pump. The relay actuation is controlled by the dark blue/yellow which sits at 12v except for the first second and when the engine is running at which time it is grounded so as to power the coil that closes the relay contacts.
