Chrysler Repair: 2002 Town & Country 3.8: key wont turn in ignition switch, repair experts, lock cylinder

Key will not turn to start engine. Gear shifter seems stiff.
Any suggestions?

Hi Gennaro,
I just saw your question. There is a safety interlock connection between the lock cylinder and the gear shift so that you can't turn the key to "run/start" unless you are in Park or Neutral. I don't have a manual so new as 2002 so I can't be specific, but try again to ask Louis, one of the other Chrysler repair experts on how to adjust that problem. Also tell him whether you have a column mounted shift lever or a floor mounter shifter.
