Chrysler Repair: Linkage to the left blend door broken, negative battery cable, airbag deployment

Question
My Town and Country was blowing cold air on the driver side and hot air on the passenger side when it should have been blowing hot air on both sides.  I took it in for repair and they told me a link was broken and it will cost between $284.00 and $774.00 to repair because they can't buy the link they have to buy everything that the link goes into. they have to order the part.  They have open a door or something now I get hot air all the time.  Even when I turn on the air conditioner.  I would like to close this door so i get the cold air back.  My question is were is this blend door located.  I also have the link and I used monkey glue and I want to see if I can put it back to see if it works.  It only took a half hour t take out so it can't be to much work to put it back in.  Thanks in advance to anyone who can tell me where this blend link to the driver side is located.

Answer
This is the procedure for removing the blend door actuator which the door is under this actuator in the heater box which you would have to remove the dash and remove the heater box too access the door but this is how you get to the actuator

REMOVAL
WARNING: On vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the airbag system before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to take the proper precautions could result in accidental airbag deployment and possible personal injury or death.

NOTE: The single zone heater-A/C system is equipped with a single blend door actuator. The dual zone system has two blend door actuators, one for the driver side blend-air door and one for the passenger side blend-air door.

Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
Remove the silencer from beneath the driver side end of the instrument panel. (Refer to 23 - BODY/INSTRUMENT PANEL/INSTRUMENT PANEL SILENCER - REMOVAL).
Disconnect the wire harness connector from the blend door actuator being serviced (BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR).
Remove the two screws that secure the blend door actuator being serviced to the HVAC air distribution housing and remove the actuator.
