Chrysler Repair: 1995 Jeep Cherokee Country Squealing Pulley, jeep cherokee country, jeep cherokee

Question
Hello-I recently started hearing a loud squealing at the front the of engine and then eventually leaking of the water pump.  It was replaced along with a thermostat.  It runs fine but the squealing is still the same.  When the front pulley is oiled it stops for just a few minutes I have tried using some belt dressing.  I had also replaced the serpentine belt, power steering pump and pulley.

Answer
I find that the belt dressing makes the belt worse most of the time and you wouldn't want to use oil neither I would replace the belt again or take it back off and clean it real good and put it back on if its a new belt while you have it off make sure one of your other pulleys aren't whats making the noise and also when you put it on make sure the belt is adjusted nice and tight no slack and the belt might stretch a little where in a week or two you need to have it readjusted tighter if its making noise then it should be good also I've seen this done flat file on the idler pulley while belt is on vehicle running but you need to be careful with your hands and also while belt on vehicle running drop some kitty litter on the belt and the theory behind this is that the liter works as sandpaper as it goes through the pulleys polishing them nice and clean hope these things help thanks
