Chrysler Repair: Is it the Fuel Pump?, haynes repair manual, fuel pump relay

Question
This is a 2002 Chrysler Voyager, 6 Cylinder, 3.3 liter engine.  It's been giving us trouble starting.  It turns over, but seems like it's not getting any fuel.  It will eventually start and once it does, it doesn't give trouble starting again unless it's been sitting (off) for awhile.  If it has recently been started, it will start up again fine.  We replaced the fuel filter, but that hasn't helped.  We took the fuel pump out and tested it and it does pump, but only like one time...and then it seems to stop.  We ran the "self-diagnostic" test on the vehicle, which spits out codes on the dashboard.  But none of the codes we received had to do with the anything related to this problem.  However, there were three codes we received which ARE NOT listed or described in our manual (Haynes Repair Manual).  These codes which we DO NOT know what they mean are...P1388, P0645, and P1282.  Hubby is thinking it is the fuel pump, but we don't want to spend $200 to buy it and replace it and then find out that it wasn't the problem.?

Answer
P1388 Auto Shutdown (ASD) Relay Control Circuit
P1282 Fuel Pump Relay Control Circuit
P0645 Air Conditioning (A/C) Clutch Relay Control Circuit

I bet ya the other codes were serial bus and data link related!
The problem lies in the auto shutdown relay. Take out the relay
(inside the large plastic box on the inner fender) and put a test light on the trip side of the relay plug. Crank the engine and watch the light. It should stay on while cranking. If it doesn't, there is a wiring issue between the fusebox and computer. If it does, replace the asd relay.
