Chrysler Repair: PT Cruiser: dual turn signal indicators flashing, emergency flasher, emergency flashers

Question
I have a 2006 PT Cruiser with about 38,000 or so miles on it.

When I first turn the car on and for about five or so minutes after, the inside turn signal indicators (both of them) will flash simultaneosly and then go off. After a few seconds, it will do it again. Then, after the car is running for a while, it doesn’t seem to do it anymore. It’s happened to me about four times now.

I have looked in the manual to see if it’s an indicator of some kind but couldn’t find anything. Do you have any suggestions of what it might be?

Answer
Hi Melissa,
I don't have a manual for the PT Cruiser but I suspect that what you are seeing is the emergency flashers indication because both turn signals are simultaneously flashing that way when you activate the emergency flasher button. It could be that the button is not fully released so try initiating the flashers and then turning them off. If it persists then it could be the switch itself or some wire that connects the button to the body computer or the body computer itself that is starting the emergency flasher on it own initiative.
