Chrysler Repair: 99 sebring hesitation, champion spark plugs, changing spark plugs

Question
QUESTION: I realized that my spark plugs have not been changed in 4 years, so i decided to do it myslef. that was a mistake, i didnt realize how much went into changing spark plugs on a 99 sebring lxi. anyways, ever since then i have had problems with my car idiling low, or a kind of a hesitation at stop lights. when it is in park it is not so bad but when it is in gear and i lightly fan the brakes and creep foward it feels like its going to die. it hasnt died yet but i am worried its going to. i have read many things about the egr valve, the throttle positioning valve, etc. the only thing that i think i disturbed was unhooking the throttle cable that is connected to the intake manifold(i think thats what it is). i unhooked it and the ground to it, and unhooked whatever was direclty underneath it also. i figured i might of messed something up with the throttle. any ideas on what might be causing my hesitation problems?

ANSWER: did u not put champion plugs in there??
what about gapping them correctly?

QUESTION: I didn't use champion spark plugs. i bought some bosch platinum plugs a while back and just used those. am i supposed to use champion? i pretty sure i gapped them at .40, the old ones were gapped at .40, so i followed them.
isnt that what they are supposed to be gapped at?

Answer
yes champions are what Chrysler calls for  as for the gap it is posted on the sticker under the hood  and it will give a part number to the plugs u are suppose to use. if u gapped them to what the old ones U took out  its wrong  the gap wears down over time so it gets bigger.
