Chrysler Repair: Hum/Click: no run, 91 3.3L, crank sensor, hi ed

Question
Hi Roland.   No the car doesn't have an antitheft system.  But I did try the lock/unlock you suggested.  This no start business started when I replaced the ECM.  I also noticed a hum/click(after the ECM replacement) coming from the vicinity of the transmission solenoids.  Could trouble with the tran solenoids effect the cars start and run capabilities.  I won't bother you anymore.  ED

Answer
Hi Ed,
No I don't see any relationship to the trans solenoids and the engine. The trans controller does get a signal from the crank sensor but I doubt it would impact the engine. You could try disconnecting the trans solenoid box plug just in case.
By the way, it is possible if the ECM you now are using came out of a car with anti-theft system then that too would likely cause the shutdpwn in a couple of seconds because it is not getting the "go ahead" signal from an anti-theft module.  So if it came out of another car, I would check for that in the donor venicle. It would have theft module located above the glove box if it had one, with a 21-pin natural color plug.
