Chrysler Repair: Chrysler Voyager 2000: Blower fuses, interior lights flicker on, amp fuse, chrysler voyager

Question
Hi  Roland, the interior blower motor is not working at all.  Can you give me some direction on what to do and where to get a decent aftermarket replacement.  Also where the fuse is so I can check that.
Also the interior lights just light up at night while we  are driving.  The idiot light on the dash says that there is a door open when all the doors are closed?
The van has abt 94k and I need to get about 10k more before I get rid of it.
Can  you help?

Answer
Hi Greg,
My '98 manual, which probably applies to your '00, shows there to be a 40 amp fuse in position 21 of the power distribution center, located in the box near the battery under the hood. The relay also requires that fuse 12 (10 amp) in the fuse box under the dash on the driver's side needs to be working. I can't advise on a replacement blower but check both fuses first.
On the idiot light, that usually means that one of the doors is simply not latching tightly enough to actuate the switch that otherwise will turn on the interior lights. Try pushing on each door from the inside and see which one causes the lights to come on. Then simply move the striker plate on the door jamb in-board a bit to stop the false alarm/lighting.
