Chrysler Repair: power window on 1991 new yorker, postal mail, xerox copy

Question
driver side window works intermittently. the switch is fine.the window goes up fast but really slows down when rolling down. it will stick and i have to tap the motor or window and it works right away. if i run the window up and down constantly the down speed picks up and it doesn't stop until i leave it for awhile. i have removed the panel lubed everything but the cables. i was wondering if one cable is for up and the other for down? could it be rust in the down cable or a bad ground? it has been like this for sometime but the motor sounds strong and always works when tapped. thank you for your help it is appeciated

Answer
Hi Scott,
I haven't ever worked on these windows. I do have the manual for '91 and it does speak of needing to lubricate the gear and pinion of the drive motor if it is ever replaced, so maybe it needs to be lubed after so many years. There is not a mention of lubing the cables so I can't speak to that. It always could be something electrical, but the ground is singular so if it moves well in one direction it is probably not that.
Maybe the best thing would be for me to xerox copy around 8 pages (4 sheets of paper) and postal mail that to you. If you would send back three 41 cent stamps that would cover my costs. Then you would have an idea of what the manual has about it. Use the "thank and rate" tab where you can enter a postal mailing address in the comment section.
