Chrysler Repair: 2001 T/C Van Radio Equalizer Lights Flash, radio wont work, radio equalizer, chrysler brand

Question
I recently disconnected my van's battery terminals to clean them and after reconnecting the battery the radio doesn't funtion. The 3 Equalizer lights flash but that is all. Any clues on what to do to get the radio working again?

Answer
Hi Barry,
I don't claim expertise beyond the year 2000 because of the cost of keeping up with the repair manuals. My suspicion is that you may have a security system built-in to the radio that requires putting in a code to re-enable the radio. If you have an owner's manual for the van (or the radio if it isn't Chrysler-brand) then look for the instructions on how to enter the code and where you might find the code. Many radios have such a code requirement so as to discourage the theft of the radio by someone who doesn't have a code to make it run again. Disconnecting the power will cause the code in the radio to be erased, thus the need to re-enter it.
