Chrysler Repair: Fuel Filler pipe removal: minivan, fuel filler pipe, chrysler town and country

Question
I have a 1994 Chrysler Town and Country.  I am attempting to replace the fuel pump.  In order to do this I have to disconnect the fuel filler pipe.  It looks as though it goes into a rubber busing and nothing else.  I have loosened the 4 screws at the filler cap on the quarter panel and the filler pipe slides out about 1 inch then I can not get it any further out.  Is there anything special that I need or something holding it?  Thank you for your time.  Also if there is anything else that you can think of that would be valuable while dropping the tank and replacing the pump it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again.

Answer
Hi Dave,
My '93 manual says to do it in the following order:
after draining the tank and removing the cap and the 4 screws that you described, raise the vehicle, disconnect the fuel pump/level sensor connector, disconnect the fuel line fittings, then support the tank with a transmission/floor jack and loosen and then remove the bolts for the tank straps.
Lower the tank slightly, Then remove the filler pipe. Then lower the tank the rest of the way. Remove the rollover valve, remove clamp and remove fuel filler vent hose. Then remove the tank.

PS write back and tell me how it went, then I can give you a few tips on reinstalling it.
