Chrysler Repair: 96 LHS fuse issues, window antenna, generic problems

Question
Hey Roland,

I have got a 96 LHS and this baby has given me problems since I bought it 2 months ago. I have fixed everything up until now and Im stumped on this one.
The current situation is this car is blowing the 20 AMP IGN. RUN START ACC. fuse under the hood. I have been through 3 of them in a 2 week period. I start the car and she runs for a short time and then just dies. Any ideas?  Also, do these cars have bad radios? When I bought the car you could only tune into 1 AM station with tons of static... The CD player worked so I decided to check out the module by the back window antenna and everything tested fine there so took out the radio and checked the connections and everything was hooked up there as well. I was out working on putting new terminals on the battery and next thing I know the radio was tuning and working but now the CD player didnt work......??????  Seems like this car has some kind of electrical or wiring issues. Any input would help alot.

Answer
Hi Matt,
If you are speaking of the fuse on inside row at the rear of the box (shown as A in my manual) then that one powers several fuses in the junction box under the dash after passing thru the ignition switch. They are: 2,3,10,14,17 18, 19, 20 and also the cruise control relay and the starter relay. So if it doesn't blow when you use the starter, then one of those circuits has to have too high a load. So take a reading of the resistance that the "cold" side of each of those fuses looks at and see if you can find a low ohm reading. Then let me know and we'll go from there. Let's deal with the radio later, though I haven't heard of any generic problems with them.
