Chrysler Repair: Radiator hose on 01 Sebring 2.7 L, radiator fluid, haynes manual

Question
Radiator fluid leaking from lower hose.  How do you replace the hose and drain the radiator. I can't find the drain plug.

Answer
Hi Greg,
As I said in my "expertise" claim, I am only equipped with manuals thru 2000, and in fact just thru '98 for the Sebring convert. The 2.7L engine wasn't used yet in '98, just the 2.5L. So I can only suggest that you look at the back side of the radiator (towards the engine) in the lower left of lower right corner (even the manual for '98 is ambiguous on this score, showing differently in 2 separate figures!) for the drain cock which you should open by hand or at least with nothing massive so as to do no damage to the handle tab. Now on the 2.7L engine as shown in my '98 manual for the LH cars, there is a two-chamber refill/overflow bottle and a special refill funnel and procedure that is to be used to refill the system. I could easily xerox the pages from that manual and postal mail them to you tomorrow if you would like to see those. So take a look at the bottle to see if yours is like that or not. Then let me know. I would hold off on doing anything until you are sure you are prepared to do a proper refill of the system to avoid getting air trapped. I am not sure if there is a Haynes manual for the '01 Sebring but you might inquire as those are generally good, but check to see if it covers the 2.7 or not. Also www.autozone.com may have an instruction sheet for the cooling system.
Even better would be to ask my fellow-expert, Kevin, at this site as he has access to computerized manuals and can no doubt send you directly just what you need to know.
Best of luck.
