Chrysler Repair: 88 Chrysler Newyorker Landau: code 81?, chrysler newyorker, check fuse

Question
Would having a trouble code activate cause other things not to operate in my vehicle. Would having code 81 effect the electronic thermostat heater from Blowing  normal hot air as oppose to almost cold air that it is blowing? Could the limp mode that my car goes into from code 81 cause the center console to keep resetting the day and date monitor?
Could the limp mode cause the rear Air Shocks not to activate in my car?

Answer
Hi Tom,
I am uncertain how to answer your question because none of my manuals for the era show there to be a code 81. I know that you told me about that earlier, and I got sidetracked on some other problems that you had. But indeed I think you need to re-read the codes carefully to see if you may have missed a "pause" during the counting. The code 55 should be the last codes because it means 'end of readout'.
I know of no basis wherein codes can cause ancillary problem unrelated to the code itself.
Please also clarify what you mean by "electronic thermostat heater", is that the automatice temperature control? There is a self-test you can do with the ATC control panel if that is what you have.
Where is the day and date monitor located (what is the name of the panel on which that appears?
What type of limp mode are you experiencing: transmission or engine? The former means the car only drives in 2nd gear, the latter means the check engine light comes on and the engine runs in "open loop" meaning without the input from the oxygen and other sensors.
I don't think the limp mode, no matter which type, will stop the air shocks from working. Check fuse #7 as that one powers the automatic leveling system.
Let us address these issues one at a time, after you clarify some of my questions, please.
