Answer
Hi Mike,
If you have spark, fuel, and compression then I suspect mixture. Take a look at the exhaust gas recirculation valve which I believe you will find just below the throttle body at the place where the big incoming air hose enters the throttle throat. It is mounted sideways and has a round top and a valve body proper that is bolted into the small exhaust pipe that comes from the exhaust manifold on the side if the engine next to the firewall. Between the round top and the body you will see a semi-open flange area, and in that space look carefully for a rod with a slot that goes around the rod. That is the valve stem. It moves back and forth being moved by vacuum which opens the valve and an internal spring which closes it under various operating conditions. Take the tip of a screwdriver and insert it in the slot, then lever the stem back and forth. It should seat tightly by the spring action. If it seems to be sticky in its action take some WD-40 or other spray lubricant and spray the stem where it enters the valve body so as to loosen up the action and to be sure the valve is closed. Then try to start the engine and see if that does it. You see if it is not closed when your try and start, and instead is stuck ajar, that lets exhaust gas into the intake manifold and dilutes the mixture so much that it won't ignite. So give that a try.
