Chrysler Repair: abs trac warning light: how to reset on a Neon, chrysler neon, neon shop

Question
due to a problem with incorrect tyre sizes which has since been rectefied, the abs and track lights on th dash of my chrysler neon are stuck on. can you advise on how to reset please.

Answer
Hi Fiona,
The '97 Neon shop manual that I have says the reset can be done by means of the Chrysler diagnostic readout box (available at a dealer at a cost unless they were involved in the fix and should have done that as part of the job) or you can wait for about 3500 miles of driving and it will erase by itself at that time. I wonder whether if you removed fuses #13 and #21 in the power distribution box (under the hood next to the battery) for a few minutes, and then put them back in, that the message stored in the ABS memory about the warning light "on" actuation might not self-erase? So give that a try. On other vehicles removing these fuses which are always carrying current even when the vehicle is "off" will erase some fault codes.
