Chrysler Repair: fixing a timing belt, dodge daytona, chrysler engine

Question
QUESTION: how to set the fire order on a 2.5 chrysler engine

ANSWER: Hi Jessica,
I assume you mean the order of the wires to the spark plugs from the distributor cap on a 2.5 V-6. If not, let me know.
Looking down on the cap while standing in front of the car, the order going counter-clockwise and starting at the 4 o'clock position on the cap, is: 1-3-5-4-2-6
Due to internal routing of conductors in the cap itself, the actual firing order then turns out to be 1-2-3-4-5-6.

QUESTION: well i was wrong . my brother just called me back to let me know its a 92 dodge daytona with a 2.2 chrysler 16 valve and its a 4 cylinder.thank you very much its for my parents.

Answer
Hi Jessica,
Because he said 16 valve I assume this is a Turbo III engine with a coil block rather than a distributor. In this case the actual firing order is 1-3-4-2 but the tower wires are arranged around the block in this way: with the primary wire plug-in on your right and starting at the front right corner of the block, the wire arrangement is 1-4-3-2 going clockwise around the block.
If the engine has a distributor instead, then the wiring order is the same as the firing order: 1-3-4-2 going clockwise around the cap starting at 11 o'clock.
Let me know if this is not what he needs to know.
