Chrysler Repair: 94 Chrysler Concorde 3.3L:changing oil pan, chrysler concorde, parting lines

Question
Oil pan is rusting out severely. I'm told it's only about 1.5 hrs shop time for the job. My question is simple. Can I change the oil pan without removing (or lifting) the engine? I have a full shop of tools, but no lift or hoist.

Answer
Hi Paul,
The manual says just disconnect the battery,  remove the dip stick, elevate the front end and remove the pan.
During the repair, remove the oil pickup tube and clean the screen. Put a new o-ring seal on pickup tube. Put a 1/8" bead of sealant at the parting lines of the chaincase cover and at two lines of the rear seal retainer. Using a new gasket, install pan and tighten screws to 200 inch-pounds. Then reverse the steps.
