Chrysler Repair: 2001 sebring convertible, dexron ii, trans fluid

Question
My convertable top stoped working yesterday. It gradually lost the ability to lift the top(2 days) looks like oil is leaking out of the lifters on both sides.
Is there a place I can refill fluid for them?(reservoir)  Or do I need to have some expensive repair done.

Answer
Hi Leif,
The manual that I have ('98) says that there is a reservoir associated with the pump proper. It has a cap and the instruction is to fill it with Dexron II trans fluid to the bottom of the hole opening. You can reach it by removing the back seat cushion and back and with the top down. You can then evaluate the rate of fluid loss and decide whether to service the lift cylinders.
Be aware that you should not use Dexron II in your automatic transmission.
