I know  that this is a nissan site but, I have a Mazda truck question that hopefully you can help out.  I have a 1989 B22oo p/u, the heater /ac motor has stopped blowing.  I have checked the fuses, everything is OK.  I have tried to locate the blower with no luck, I was wandering if you guide me in the right direction?  Is the motor under the hood or inside?  I am thinking under the glovebox? How could I do a quick confirmation to determine if the blower is bad?  Thanks for your help.

Chris,
Do I need to drop the glove box?  I'm not sure what the motor should look like?  Do I hook a wire to the positive side of the battery? Thanks for your quick response...

The blower is on the passenger side under the dash.  Look up under the dash and you should see it.  Unplug the wires to it and remove the screws that hold it in and it will drop down.  Check it out by hotwiring it with 12 volts like using wires off the battery to make sure it is defective and not the blower relay.

Answer
Chris,

The end of the motor extends out and is about three inches in diameter.  It is behind the glovebox.  But you should be able to see if without removing the glovebox.  You could get a Haynes manual at the local parts store for photographs.  Yes, the test is to use a negative wire connected to the battery with another positive wire connected to the plus side and then touch the wires tot he two wires from the blower motor.  The black one is the negative and the other is the positive.  if the motor works replace the relay/  If not, replace the blower.
