Chrysler Repair: 2001 Neon fault codes 0121, 0123, 0201-0204, throttle position sensor, 5v supply

Question
trouble starting when damp and high rpm's when out of gear,i get the following p-codes 201-204,121,and 123 how are all of theses connected

Answer
Hi John
I would begin by checking out the function of the throttle position sensor. It should vary smoothly in resistance as you move the throttle when measured between the center wire and each of the end wires at the 3-pin socket, with the plug removed. It that seems OK then check over the three wires for signs of insulation meltthrough. Then check the 5v supply on the violet/white wire of the plug with the ignition in Run, and check the other two wires to see if either is shorted to ground.
If that all checks out then examine the wiring to the MAP sensor for damage, and verify that you have 5v on its violet/white wire.
Something is wrong there, and once you can clear the 0121 and 0123 codes (check by removing the - post clamp of the battery for 5 minutes, then reconnect and drive for a bit and see which codes remain) the 0201-0204 are all about the injectors not responding properly and those could really be due to the TPS/MAP issues rather than themselves. If they remain, I would look over the wiring harness to the injectors for signs of damage.
Please let me know how this works out. I seldom get these specific codes so it is of interest.
