Yes I have a 1999 LHS the heat will not come on I am getting a code 23 blend doors not actuing I have removed the glove box and looked In i Can see one of the doors actators and it is moving but can't see the door itself I have heard there is a inner blend door and it bad for breaking (dont know what to do next or have any diagrams)

Answer
Hi Rob,
The blend door actuator is on the bottom of the unit just above the center tunnel.
To remove the actuator:
disconnect the negative battery cable remote post from the remote terminal
Remove the left and right underpanel silencer/ducts
Remove two screws from the acutuator which are accessible from the right side of center stack
Pull actuator straight down from shaft of door and disconnect electrical connector. Upon removal, note the shaft position of the actuator, because shaft on the motor is keyed. When installing the new actuator its shaft must be positioned in the same location.
You may be able to access the motion of the door or at least feel whether it is moveable by inserting a tool similar to the shaft that you can turn by hand. To replace the door you would have to remove the entire unit from the vehicle, and then it is about step 20 of a disassembly process to get it out. I hope you don't have to do that. Maybe the actuator is the problem, not the door.
If you can't locate the actuator let me know and I can xerox and postal mail you some pages from the manual that show its location. The actuator has 5 wires:brow/white, pink/dark blue, dark blue/gray, dark green/yellow, and yellow white. That will verify you have found it.
I can copy the pages for ten cents per side plus postage. You can send back stamps once you receive them. So use the "thank and rate" tab to enter a mailing address.
