THE MAKE OF MY CAR IS 2001 300M 3.5 CHRYSLER

History:
hope you can help,i got this code after,obd2 test i know its not the fuel cap as its working fine , i dont smell any fuel,,i dont no where the evap canister is to check if its craked it also said purge or vent solenoid defective,or vacume leak at engine can you tell me where i should start.

The code is for a fairly large leak in the evaporative fuel recovery system so it may not be too hard to locate. I would begin with the EVAP emissions sticker that is located in the engine compartment, probably on the underside of the hood. That will show you how the parts are connected to oneanother so if you can find one you may well be able to find the others by tracing the hoses that are shown that connect them together. My problem with describing the locations is that I have both a '98 and a '04 manual, but not one for '01, and unfortunately they are different between the two years. So you could go to a dealer parts counter and ask them to show you the parts locations on their computer and/or call and ask if the system for the '01 is more similar to the '98 or the '04 model year. Then let me know and I can xerox some pages from the better manual that would fit you needs, and postal mail those to you.
