Chrysler Repair: blend door/actuator, chrysler voyager, steering wheel

Question
QUESTION: 2002 Chrysler voyager van. Thank you so far for the help. I took it to the dealer and the diagnostics resulted in a blend door/actuator problem. they said the entire ac/heater box or vent box ? needed replaced. I called the parts guy up and for this year and VIN 4 actuators can be bought. Where is the blend door actuator located exactly? Your prior instructions on taking the dash apart starting with the cover under the steering wheel, should I try that? Is the actuator inside the box itself? I am being told it may be.

ANSWER: which actuator was bad  think for yourself  what is the chance that 4 different actuators would go bad at the same time??  like 1 in a  million  if not higher.U more then likely have just one bad . The dealer is hosing u on this  DO u live near  me Atlanta? U dont need to replace the whole assembly for one actuator. unless it's the hard to get one u will need to take out the dash  but not replace the whole assembly unless the dorr is broken or something along that line  get all the info from the dealer to be right one the money.

QUESTION: I live in PA. I would gladly get the work done by you if I were closer. Think for a minute, you misunderstood me when I said 4 actuators can be bought. I was stating that they can be bought seperate from the whole assembly telling us that they should be able to be changed. Nothing to do with 4 of them, only that they are broken down from the whole assembly.

Answer
Yes they can be gotten by them selfs There is one on the front half of the hvac housing and on behind the hvac housing  thats why I was asking which one u wanted to get to.  One quick question  what is your prob ne way??  not to discredit the dealer that u went to  but i never trust what another shop says unless i come up with the some conclusion. I would say u have cold air on the driver  side and warm or hot air on the pass side am i correct?
