QuestionQUESTION: I read your answer to '99 T&C stuck in 2nd gear and speedometer not working?' which posted just a few days ago. Good for me as it just happened to me this evening. I wanted to add to the question but did not see an option for that, so i hope this works...I have the same problem, but it seems that my AC went out at the same time - is it possible they are related?

QUESTION: Thanks again...I got the parts and plan on installing them this afternoon - do you know of a good schematic (available online) as I don't want to buy a book for this little fix.
Do I need to disconnect the battery...or is that just a safety step.
Also, should the 'service' light go off by itself? If not, what do need to do.

Answerno dont worry about the batt dont have the key on while u are doing teh repair. The light will go off by itself if the item that made it come on in the first place is fixed. it will take 3 full drive cycles in order for this to happen. SO start it up drive 10 miles turn off the car then start it back up drive another 10 miles then same thing on the 3rd drive cycle it should turn off if corrected plus u will know it buy the way it shifts to.
