Chrysler Repair: 1996 Dodge Neon 2.0L: no start, no spark., obd ii reader, dodge neon

Question
1996 dodge neon 2.0 sohc crank no start no spark no codes have fuel pressure 45 psi cranking have power to coil replaced both crank cam sensor also pcm, pinned out wiring for coil crank cam sensor wiring checks good checked timming it is on, is it poss lost a ground to pcm? is this a common problem?

Answer
Hi Lorny,
When you say "no codes" are you looking with an OBD-II reader or the ignition key? The 2.0L was the engine that first used the OBD-II system and so it may not have code access via the ignition key.
There PCM grounds are pins 10, 47. 50 and 71 so verify that at the plugs to the PCM.
Have you checked for signals at the crank and cam sensors and for voltage supply? If not, check for 8V on the orange wires. Then hand crank the engine and read the pulsing between the black light blue wires and the gray/black (crank) and the tan/yellow (cam wires), respectively. The signal should oscillate between 5 and 0.3V as you rotate it with the ignition switch "on". Use pins to probe for the conductors through the insulation.
That would be my approach for why there is no spark. Let me know, please, what your learn.
