Question
QUESTION: My daughter bought a 98 sebring convertible with 114,00 miles a beautiful car. recently we have had to have the car towed due to not starting, the first time we learned that it blew a 20 amp fuse. We replaced the fuse and it worked fine for 3 weeks with no problems. The second time it blew a fuse again so we replaced the fuse and nothing a day later we went back to tow it home and we tried starting and it took off fine once again the mechanic cannot fix because it is working again. he wants to replace the starter but he isn,t sure if that is it. any ideas

ANSWER: what fuse  d u have the fuse number where it was located?

QUESTION: Sorry I missed some info I dont know the number but it is tied to the fuel pump the starter, and ciggerette lighter it is a 20 amp fuse. When we attempted to start it we got one little click and then nothing, we replaced it with a 25 amp and the fuse did not blow, but it didnt start either till the next day when we pushed it on to a trailer and we tried it again.now it starts every time again thats what makes it hard to trouble shoot because it works again. We do not use the ciggerette lighter. everythinng else works fine

Answer
when the fuse is replaced  U turn the key over  but dont start it  do u hear the fuel pump work for 1-2 seconds then stop? If yes then u would say u have a bad starter or ign switch. I would start with  the starter first sense u hear a click then nothing.
